GRAPHIC ART BIENIAL, DRY POINT,
UZICE, SERBIA

international exibition

Open War-Studio: 1-6, June, 1999.

Fourth Graphic Art Bienial, Dry Point, had to be delayed because of NATO agression on Yugoslavia. In meanwhile, we decided to mark the day when this international manifestation was supposed to begin, we have openned Open War-Studio, and we called artists from Yugoslavia to join. We had eleven artist responded.

In the main hall of the City Gallery of Uzice, printing press was positioned, and visitors were able to see whole process of dry point technique. Also, they could see finished works and buy them for symbolic price. All income was passed to yugoslav Red Cross.

All this lasted five days regardless of constant danger of NATO bombing. Exibition of all works was set and it still could be seen in our gallery.

Our hope is that situation in our country will normalize enogh to make it possible to gather members of international selecting jury. We have received about 500 works from 200 artists all over the world. We have everything prepared for bienial and we will inform you as soon as it becames possible to begin this manifestation.

Now, you may take a look of all works presented in Open War-Studio.
